It is a tool to help people find public figures and brands’ real Pages and profiles. If a Page or profile has the verified badge, it means that FB confirmed that it represents who it says it does. If the badge isn’t there, it may not be the real Page or profile. Posts, stories, and other content from verified Pages and profiles aren’t verified by Facebook.

A verified Page or profile cannot transfer ownership or modify its purpose. Edits such as name, category, and bio updates will are reviewed before they’re posted. Ownership transfers and significant changes may be grounds for badge removal.

Requirements To Apply For A Verified Badge

Below are the requirements needed for Pages and profiles to apply for a verified badge.

  • The page or profile must be authentic i.e it must represent a person, registered business. or entity
  • The page or profile must be unique.
  • It must be complete in the sense that it should have an about section, Page or profile photo, and recent activity, including at least one post.
  • It should be notable; represent a well-known, often searched person, brand, or entity

Once your page or profile meets the requirements above, then you are good to go in applying for a verified badge.

You can submit a request by filling out a contact form to confirm that your Page or profile is authentic and notable. Click or tap HERE to access the contact form

Keep in mind that if you provide false or misleading information during the verification process, FB will remove your verified badge and may take additional action to delete your account.

If your page or profile represents a person, you’ll need a copy of your official government-issued photo identification as listed below

  • Passport
  • Driver’s license
  • National identification card

But if your page or profile represents an organization, you’ll need a copy of one of the following:

  1. Phone or utility bill
  2. A certificate of formation
  3. Articles of incorporation
  4. Tax exemption documents

You’ll receive a notification once you’ve submitted the necessary details and Facebook review your request. Please don’t submit more than one request for your Page or profile. For denied requests, you can submit a new request after 30 days.

Facebook doesn’t sell verified badges. So, therefore, never engage with anyone offering to sell you a verified badge. Facebook doesn’t sell verified badges, and any Page or profile found doing so will have their badges removed. FB reserves the right to remove the verified badge from pages and profiles at its discretion
