The French footballing legend was initially given an eight year ban by the FIFA ethics committee, but had it reduced to six on appeal alongside former FIFA president, Sepp Blatter over a £1.25m transaction between the two, but the latest ruling has seen a further two year reduction.

Michel Platini ban reduced to four yearsThe Court of Arbitration For Sport agreed with the initial FIFA ruling that the payment was “unfair” and a “conflict of interests”, but reduced the length of the ban to 4 years.
