Michelle Obama Final remarks as first lady : “Hope i have made you Proud” – Michelle Obama has given her last remark as the First lady today, advising the young Americans to ‘Lead by example’ and to remain ‘Hopeful’.
In her remarks, she said “We’re almost at the end,” speaking at an event that recognized the 2017 school counselor of the year. “May I say for the last time officially: welcome to the White House!” she Continued.
She Gave her remarks in The School Counselor of the Year event, which is a yearly White House tradition started in 2015 by Michelle Obama herself in connection to her Reach Higher initiative, according to the first lady’s office.
The Tradition (events) comes exactly two weeks before President-elect Donald Trump assumes office.
In Michelle’s remarks she She Said that “the power of hope” was the message her family believed in over the past eight years. Adding that “Something better is always possible if you’re willing to work for it and fight for it,” she proclaimed. “That’s my final message to young people as first lady. It is simple.”
Furthermore, She said that she wants young people of America to know that they matter, that they belong. Her voice was breaking several times near the end of her remarks. “So don’t be afraid. You hear me, young people? Don’t be afraid. Be focused, Be determined, Be hopeful, Be empowered, Empower yourself with a good education. Then get out there and use that education to build a country worthy of you boundless promise. Lead by example with hope; never fear.” She Added.
In an emotional speech, she thank her supporters saying, “being your first lady has been the greatest honor of my life and I hope I’ve made you proud”. And she ended her speech Which drew a loud Standing ovation from the Crowd.
