An Heroic Dog wins Award from the Nigeria Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA) which celebrates it’s national world veterinary day today being 29th April, 2017 held in Orchid Hotel, Asaba Delta state for stopping a female suicide bomber in Borno.

The President of the association, Dr. Godwin Abonyi in the said celebration, the name of the dog owner was identified as Mr Mallum, a school teacher in borno.
The president further described the dog as being GALLANT for dying in the course of saving the lives of large number of Nigerians from a suicide bomber.
A minute silence was observed for the lives of the Armed forces who has lost their lives in the insurgencies And fight against Bokoharam and the suicide bombers.
After the minute silence, the owner of the heroic dog Mr Mallum was called upon and the award was given to him.

He was honored the heroic performance with the sum of N100,000 for a new dog, and a free veterinary treatment throughout the life spam of the new dog.
The theme of the celebration is on “Antimicrobial Resistance – From Awareness to Action“. And contributions to improve animal health and welfare as well as public health were advised.
