Nigerian Author Chimamanda’s Americanah wins One Book, One new York contest, after being voted by New Yorkers. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s ‘Americanah’ is the first book selected for the largest community read in the country. It’s a Novel published in 2013 and now it has emerged the Winner of the Widely read Novel In the U.S.
Among the Five books were chosen and presented to the NYC public for a vote.
Celebrities made video sounds for each book and Over the 50,000 votes which were cast, and Chimamanda’s novel, sounded by actress Bebe Neuwirth, came out the Winner of them all.
In a film Adaption In 2014, David Oyelowo and Lupita Nyong’o stared in a film of the novel, which gave the book more recognition.
According to the Mayor’s Office of Media And Entertainment and Buzzfeed, Americanah Stood out among the Five books That was Chosen for the Contest.
The office of the mayor said that New Yorkers cast their ballots for the book throughout February and said they wanted millions of residents to read it simultaneously.
The Office also added that the Book was the one Most New Yorkers wanted to read and During the one book, one New York Campaign, It was Voted.
New Yorker has urge everyone during this Campaign to read this Book which has been Picked by everyone among the Five Books chosen.
It is a 2013 novel by the Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
It tells the story of a young Nigerian woman, Ifemelu, who emigrates to the United States to attend university.
Ifemelu, went to America, and during her stay there, her life as an immigrant changed her entire view on race and identity.
Her lover, Obinze, who was blocked from joining her due to a post restriction, struggled for dignity as an undocumented immigrant in London.
Ifemelu was forced to confront new issues of race and class in the United States, Before being reunited in their homeland.
